The Botanic Gardens is the largest area of green space in Roseau, with 40 acres of over 50 types of indigenous plants and imported trees. It is an oasis of tranquility to locals and visitors alike. Yet offers much to do like visiting the Parrot Sanctuary, which is home to two of the island’s rarest parrots, the Sisserou (the national bird) and the Jako; walking up the 35 steps up to Jack’s Walk, a steep 15 minute climb to Morne Bruce where a huge cross and cannon share the fabulous view over the Botanical Gardens, Roseau and the Caribbean Sea.
